Vacancy: Assistant Workshop Technician
About the Role
We are looking for someone to come and join our small friendly team to assist with all sorts of practical things to help our classes run smoothly. It’ll be a lot of fun with the opportunity to learn & develop new skills whilst meeting lots of lovely creative people. You’ll be working around skilled teachers & students of both modern & traditional upholstery in a National Trust Building on the Kingston Lacy Estate.
Job Description:
Daily tasks will include organising tools & materials, hoovering & tidying, unpacking orders & general upkeep of the workshop. There will be a lot of moving chairs around which can be very heavy so being physically able to do this is important. You’ll also be helping students with all sorts of things so being a friendly helpful person is certainly a key part of the job!
Work Times:
From September 2025 we need an assistant on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9.30am to 11.30am through term time only. Looking ahead there could be opportunities for these hours and job role to develop further.
Qualifications / Experience:
Any experience in Upholstery would be great but this is not essential. Being trustworthy, kind and full of beans is though!
Pay:
The role would begin as a self-employed position paid at an hourly rate in accordance with the National Living Wage.
How to Apply:
If you would like to apply then please email Cecily: cecily@upholstery-classes.co.uk to introduce yourself together with a CV. Applications are open until the 20th June.
Many thanks! Cecily, Anna & Sally
